THE HOTEL VILLA D’ESTE ON ITALY’S
MAGNIFICENT LAKE COMO WELCOMES JANTIENA FIEYRA!

Jantiena Fieyra is the host of the popular new travel-lifestyle-magazine TV program where she shares with her audiences her travel and life experiences “…to bring Europe to the USA and the USA to Europe.”

In this program Jantiena travels to the beautifully grand hotel Villa d’Este on Italy’s Lake Como!

Welcome! To the award-winning five-star grand hotel Villa d’Este, nestled within the beautiful western shore of Italy’s Lake Como.

Located in a magnificent park surrounded by 25 acres of beautiful flowers, terraces, fountains and historical gardens overlooking the wonderful blue-green waters of Lake Como, the luxurious Villa d’Este hotel is but minutes from the Swiss border and can easily be reached from Milan by car or train in less than 45 minutes.

In Jantiena’s program she welcomes you on her journey to Villa d’Este as she meets with Villa d’Este’s own world-famous Executive Chef of 30 years and culinary author Luciano Parolari.

You will meet the lovely and gracious Maria Carla Frattini from the famous Frattini family that has been designing luxurious jewelry since 1920; and 50 years ago it was from the very shores of Lake Como that Ugo Frattini first set up shop at the Villa d’Este.

And then there is the lovely Fiona Simmons and Velia (Val-ye-ah) Longo who developed a completely new and exquisite line of Italian perfume: LARIVS Profumo! Exclusively designed to capture the lovely scents found only on the shores of beautiful Lake Como at Villa d’Este. (Larivs: Pronounced Lau-Rees)

Villa d’Este has been the favorite destination for many famous couples who have chosen to “honeymoon” on Italy’s Lake Como: from Rita Hayworth and Orson Welles, Elizabeth Taylor and Nick Hilton, Linda Christian and Tyrone Power, Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner, to the Duke and Duchess of Windsor!

From 1568 to 1873 Villa d’Este was owned by many notables, a list that reads as the Who’s Who of the World, such as the Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio and Caroline of Brunswick – Princess of Wales.

It wasn’t until 1873 when Villa d’Este transformed into the Grand Hotel, attracting celebrities from all over the world to indulge in its magical beauty and splendor – becoming a most popular destination among the European Aristocracy such as the King Leopold of Belgium, King Humbert II of Italy, Beatrix – Queen of Holland, Sonja – Queen of Norway and Prince Rainier of Monaco.

And it was not long after that the grand hotel Villa d’Este blossomed into the lives of Hollywood’s elite such as Greta Garbo, Gregory Peck, Clark Gable, Bing Crosby, Bette Davis, Jane Russell, Kirk Douglas, Lauren Bacall, Donald Sutherland, Charlton Heston, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Woody Allen, Sylvester Stallone, Mel Gibson, Sharon Stone, Robin Williams, Matt Dillon, Robert De Niro, George Clooney and many, many others.

To complete the list of “Hollywood on Lake Como”, some of the great producers of our time entered the gates of Villa d’Este such as David Wolper and Alfred Hitchcock. And it was here in 1925 that the great Alfred Hitchcock was inspired to do his first movie on these very premises entitled: The Pleasure Garden.

For centuries Como has been considered the silk capital of the world enticing stylists such as Bill Blass, Oscar de la Renta, Yves Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein, Gianni Versace and many many others to mingle on the terrace with such notables as Mikhail Gorbachev, John F. Kennedy, Henry Kissinger, Christian Barnard and many others.

And it was on the shores of Lake Como at Villa d’Este that Winston Churchill often came after WWII for the sole purpose of painting – it being known that Mr. Churchill never painted so well as when he was visiting at Villa d’Este.

And so it is from this beautiful location that tradition has been born.

From the beginning of March until mid November of every year, Villa d’Este opens its doors to its international clientele and welcomes guests from all parts of the world – a tradition of romantic and graceful living renewed in this fabulous place bejeweled with the beauty and splendor found nowhere else.

Watch CarpeDiemTV and travel with Jantiena Fieyra as she explores a part of life you may never see at the wonderful grand hotel Villa d’Este on Italy’s most beautiful Lake Como!
