FAMED NOVELIST VEIT HEINICHEN MEETS WITH JANTIENA FIEYRA IN TRIESTE, ITALY
Jantiena Fieyra is the host of the popular new travel-lifestyle-magazine TV program where she travels the world “…to bring Europe to the USA and the USA to Europe.”
In this program, Jantiena Fieyra meets up with famous crime-novelist Veit Heinichen in the Piazza Unità d’Italia (Unity of Italy Square) who briefly explains the important culture of Trieste, Italy and then joins Jantiena in the historic Caffè Tommaseo to sip on a cup of luxurious coffee.
At the heart of Trieste lies the Piazza Unità d’Italia, the beautiful and historic central square headed by Trieste’s municipal building that boldly overlooks the beautiful blue-green waters of the Gulf of Trieste that eventually transition in the horizon to the Adriatic Sea.
Whether night or day, the square is a bustle of activity with natives and visitors alike that is part of a major seaport that has become one of the most important ports in all of central Europe.
And here it was on a bright, windy, sunny morning, that Mr. Veit Heinichen, sensational author of 10 crime detective novels who has a passion for bringing to life the peoples and cultures of the extraordinary city of Trieste, Italy, met with Jantiena Fieyra on one of the most significant cultural crossroads of central Europe.
The popularity of Veit Heinichen’s books have grown to such an extent that they have now been translated into Italian, Dutch, Spanish, French, Slovenian and Norwegian and are in various stages of film production.
Despite his busy schedule, Veit Heinichen took a moment to visit with Jantiena in the Piazza Unità d’Italia and give some of his insight into the remarkable cultures that can be found in Trieste, Italy.
Like nowhere else on earth, coffee has become a remarkable tradition of Trieste and has itself embraced the many cultures that have over the many centuries come to find Trieste as home. And it is not by chance either that Trieste has become one of the biggest seaports in all of Europe for the import and export of coffee and which has become the home of the international Italian coffee company: Illycaffè, otherwise known as just Illy.
And with this tradition thrives an endless supply of coffee houses which provide the socially important meeting and gathering places that just cannot be found in the United States.
Therefore it was only fitting that as part of this wonderful interview that Jantiena and Mr. Veit Heinichen visit one of the most famous coffee houses in all of Trieste: the Caffè Tommaseo.
(In Jantiena’s full TV program version on Trieste, she visits the coffee houses of both Caffè Tommaseo and Caffè San Marco.)
