It has fast become the most prestigious Art Show in the United States and is the sister event of Art Basel Switzerland. Held annually since 2002, Art Basel Miami Beach is literally held throughout the city each December. In just 8 short years, Art Basel Miami Beach has now eclipsed its sister event, the original Art Basel Switzerland, in size and popularity.
More than 600 galleries apply for inclusion in the exhibition, but only as many as 250 get accepted.
One of the most fascinating destinations along the beautiful southeastern shores of Miami, Florida USA is none other than the wondrous Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. Built during the epoch time period of the American Renaissance, it was in 1910 when James Deering, American industrialist and International Harvester’s Vice President, first conceived of his plan to build the estate in what was at the time nothing more than a snake-infested jungle in a rural, undeveloped wetland known as Miami, Florida.
